Help ! Would you use a toy & games marketplace + price comparison site in one place?

Hi all,
I’d love some honest feedback from other parents. My husband is working on an idea and creating a Vinted-style marketplace just for toys & games, combined with a price comparison tool for all the big toy retailers (Smyths, Entertainer, Argos, Amazon etc).
The idea is that you could:

  • Buy/sell/swap kids’ toys and console games
  • Scan a toy with your phone and it creates the listing for you
  • Compare prices for new toys in one place (Smyths, Entertainer, Argos, Amazon etc).
  • Use a platform designed around eco-friendliness + reducing waste (lots of toys end up in landfill)
  • Avoid the chaos of FB Marketplace and get clearer buyer/seller protection

I think it sounds useful as my house is bursting at the seams with Toys and would love to make some extra money buy selling them but don't like using FB. I’m obviously biased — so I’d really value your thoughts.

No, it sounds like it’s trying to do too many things at once and there’s no need for it. Where’s the gap in that already saturated market?

Why on earth would I go looking for the price of new toys whilst trying to flog my second hand stuff? Makes no sense

Cheers Fends honestly, that's the feedback that I was hoping for, he will really appreciate you being straight about it.

the idea isn’t that people would be shopping for new toys while flogging their old ones at the same time. I completely agree that would make no sense!

The two features are there for different moments,

Sometimes you’re buying new toys, and it would be handy to compare prices in one place.

Other times you’re drowning in toys and just want a quick, simple way to sell or pass them on.

It’s more about making a single place that supports buying and selling Toys and Games.
