Toy garage for one year old.

Looking for a 1st birthday present for a one year old boy. I was thinking of a garage as he loves putting thing on and off things. Been to Smyths and Toys r us but not inspired. He has two older brothers and I don't want anything that will come apart as bits will get lost and broken. Thought about a wooden one but they are either very simple and he will grow out of it quickly or too old for him. I'm open to other suggestions. It just needs to be very durable.

Have a look on Facebook marketplace, don't spend a fortune. We got a big plastic toy garage with a spiral ramp which could be converted from high ramp to race track. It basically parented my child during lockdown. Ghastly but useful. I think it was Fisher Price.

Very glad to see the back of it when we passed it on to the neighbours!

DD had a gorgeous wooden one, personalised with her name, like “DD’s Garage”. I think I got it from eBay but this was 16 years ago! It’s still around today and I’m saving it for her children. That’s the beauty of wooden toys. They last forever.

I've got a Hape brand one for my son for his 2nd birthday that I found at an NCT sale. It's pretty simple but realistic enough to have longevity - or at least I hope so!

The Brio one looks good too and would be potentially compatible with any wooden train track the family have, or you can start a collection of it for his next birthday.

Nothing will quite beat the nostalgia of the vintage Fisher Price garage of my childhood though!

We love our Brio one and it’s been consistently used for years. Also a child can stand on it and it won’t break!

Thank you I'll look at the brio one

Agree with brio. My son loves his trains so he has a big box of brio tracks and trains and they attach to the garage and he uses his little hot wheels cars on it too. The big Hape gearhead stunt garage is amazing for matchbox/hot wheels cars but I don’t think they make it anymore. Maybe find it second hand though.
