Present Ideas For A First Birthday Boy

Looking for some ideas on what to get a friends baby boys first birthday. He has a 4 year old sister so they already have many toys and clothes.
My kids are adults now so it has been a long time since I have had to think of toy gifts.

Any ideas please for a little boy who already has lots.

Thank You.

Honestly, as a parent of 2 small children ask what they'd like. Offer to get clothes, pyjamas or whatever opposed to just toys or books. But if you ask it means it is something they want or need. 😊

Yes best thing is to just ask.

Pop up and lift the flap books, they often do t survive to be passed on to siblings.

My Grandson is 1 at the weekend and we’ve bought him a bobble bike which is a tiny little bike that says is ideal for a 1st birthday and a tonies box as his main presents .
The tonies box will grow with him .

Yes, best to ask.

I'd ask.

Or get something that can be 'used up'. Like bubbles or playdough or stickers or a big roll of drawing paper and some baby crayons/felt tips.

Chances are they've already got loads of toys and books if they've got an older one.

Home bargains also had some lovely big jigsaws with the grip to pull them in and out they were only £2.99 each .

Just ask the parents, really. Might be a voucher or a gift card to a store where they could get clothes, if you absolutely don't want to ask.
We planned a professional photo shoot for my cousin's DD's first birthday but that was per her request, she wanted cute pictures, so we got her a certificate to a professional photographer with an open date and she and her DD went to the photo shoot later. That might be a good idea as well, but certainly not for everyone. By the way, if your friend has shared some pictures of her child, you can make a cute baby slideshow with those and it would be their first Birthday video.

A book. Something from the ‘that’s not my puppy’ series, where they can feel different textures. Mine loved them.

Thank you all so much for your useful replies. It does seem common sense to ask but I would rather just turn up with a gift that I had thought of….well what you guys thought of🤫.
Some useful ideas though so thanks again all. X
