Lego - how do you sort and store it?

How do you sort your Lego? Do you sort it by sets, by colour or by piece size?

Previously we sorted by colour but I'm looking for a bit more creative play for my kids and considering reorganising by size or theme.

Also wondering how you store your Lego, whether you have a dedicated Lego table?

If you're happy to share any tips I'd be grateful!

Thank you :)

We have an Ikea Trofast unit with storage tray inserts. DC display their creations on top of the unit.

Same! OP look up the ikea Lego table hack.
we’ve glued Lego boards to the top to build on. It’s ace. Drawers are a total mess but the kids don’t care as long as it’s all accessible

I sorted by brick and have the storage that builders use for screws/nails etc.

Took months but I was doing it around work, mum life, house stuff etc

totally worth it though
