Any opinions on Furbies?
Is a Furby suitable for a 7 year old girl?

My DD had one back in the 90's when they first came out. It was a creepy little fucker that spoke randomly scaring the shit out of everyone. I can still hear its weird little voice saying 'I am Podai' from the depths of the cupboard. No idea if they are different now though.

My daughter had one around that age (14 now) - she loved it!

Don't do it to yourself! They have no off switch and wake children when they start chatting (worse in 'evil' mode) in the middle of the night. We had to remove batteries eventually

😂 yes we had one too! Our dog hated the bloody thing, I can remember the noise when Furby woke up, that drove him absolutely mad! I took Furby into work one day as colleagues wanted to have a look at it, it was a menace tbh, even made a noise shut it was shut in the drawer.

You can buy furblets really cheaply. They make good stocking fillers and you don't have to suffer a full size one.

DD had one around 2014, they do have an off switch now and it came with an eye mask you put on it to put it to sleep so it was quiet. It also came with an app it could interact with and play mini games on. If the child doesn't have a device to pair it to then it's just an annoying toy.

It looks like the new one has lost alot of the functionality of the one we had and no longer connects to devices for the app. Although I think it's still available as a standalone.

For anyone on the coach from Devon to Birmingham in August 1994 -I apologise

My children had one each ( 3 of the fuckers) I was driven insane by them by the time we got home and for about a year afterwards so god knows how others felt .

DD (6) got one for Christmas last year. It has an "off switch" by pressing the heart on its head so no surprise chatting in the night in my house. She barely plays with it tbh but it is suitable for a 7 year old. It only has so many functions so gets a bit boring once you've done the freeze dance 10 times.
