What’s wrong with books? Could you find out from her parent what she’s been reading and get a couple that are a step up from that?

Grendacious · 31/05/2024 01:05

Fancy craft supplies (nice pens in different colours, pencil case, notepad etc) goes down well with most of that age (whereas toys etc are v dependent on the individual).

If you are spending £30 just ask her parents what she would like.
That's quite a high amount for a random gift.

AzureSheep · 31/05/2024 01:09

Definitely some nice expensive pens (Top Model range is probably a good example), a lockable diary. Big LEGO set if they’re into LEGO. Bath bombs, squishmallow, pretty much anything from Claire’s Acessories

Smiggles is your friend! Glitter pens, stationary sets etc
bath bombs
hair accessories
books!
bracelet kit
Voucher local trampoline park

you can get lots for £30!

Therapy4all · 31/05/2024 01:12

10 year old daughter here, squishmallows definitely!
Mine reads and draws a lot, that's what she spends her money on.

Greengrapeofhome · 31/05/2024 01:13

My daughter will be 9 this year and would love things like squishmallows, pens, notebooks, things for the bath. Some of her peers are into skin care and clothes but she’s not interested in them. You could also get a gift voucher for something that’s nearby maybe like an activity or Claire’s accessories if she’s into jewellery. If she’s sporty, maybe something linked to her sport. Or something personalised with her name on for her room. If she is into fortnite or roblox you could get a voucher for that

'Wreck This Journal' (colour version) by Keri Smith...brilliant, interactive and a big hit with 9-yr-old niece.
(Apparently started a trend amongst her friend group!)

Maybe combined with some quality colouring pencils?

Kanoodle Extreme! One of my DDs was given it aged 8/9 and it's still regularly played with by her (and friends) aged 15.
