Toys & Activities for nearly 3yr DS on 2.5hr flight?

Any recommendations for toys & activities to take on a 2.5hr plane journey with a nearly 3yr old who doesn't like sitting still..?

Bonus if they are firefighter / rescue service / motorcycle themed.

He particularly LOVES the winch / harness mechanism on rescue helicopters and I'm wondering if there's a tiny version of this we could take.

Not the kind of toy you mentioned but we got DS one of those LCD pads, which are only about a fiver. Two years on and it still comes out with us whenever there’s going to be any waiting involved.

we get a colouring book with stumpy crayons, finger puppets - at the moment those rubber dinasaur ones and a couple of little cars. Couple of story books and snacks and he carries them in his little rucksack. I find theres a definite balance of less is more that keeps them amused. and give him the window seat. My son has been known to fall asleep knelt up looking out the window.

Have a look at the paw patrol busy book. It has the little figures with their vehicles

A iPad with Fireman Sam on it. Anything small will get dropped and lost. How much do you want to be searching around the feet of your fellow players passengers?

Ipad. Download from Netflix or similar.
New exciting books. We had some with (quite big) magnetic figures to move around.
Colouring books and crayons.
Lots of snacks!
Guessing games.
Window seat.

It's 2.5 hours, he will probably surprise you. Especially if you download him some bluey or whatever (take headphones).

You don't need helicopters and winches and loads of little toys.

^^ This is what we take.

Son has his own mini backpack which is packed with his water bottle, sticker book, headphones (wireless as he broke the other ones 🙄), magic water painting thing, board books etc. He knows he generally only gets to play with the iPad when we travel on planes so he's always very excited to see it again.

I was in the Supermarket with DD19 recently and we were buying a gift for a neighbour who is 4 and has broken his leg.
DD picked up one of those colour in with water thingies and said she used to love them whenever we flew. No mess and no fiddly bits to lose either

Triangular crayons - they don’t roll off the table or down the aisle.

Thank you, these are all great suggestions! I hadn't even thought of getting him a little rucksack - great idea, plus he gets to lug it around instead of us (though we'll probably end up with it anyway lol).

Toys that keep children engaged are great toys for children on flight busy. Toys and puzzles are a great way to keep them engaed. I would recommend string puzzles especially the string puzzle from Mother touch toys, which had helped a lot. Ill leave a link just in case if anyone wants to look at the product. Thank you.😊https://www.mothertouchtoys.com/collections/string-puzzles

He loves crocodiles :)

It's a decent size so can fit a fair amount in.
