Science subscription boxes

My son (9) really wants a subscription box for Christmas. He likes the look of the crunch labs engineering one but it’s very pricey! I’ve also looked at MEL science and the kiwi tinker crate. Has anyone had any of these and can say if they are worth it? Thanks

Sorry not tried any of those but my DS enjoyed this one https://www.letterboxlab.com/ during lockdown when he was 9. The great thing is everything is comes with the box so you don't have to have particular extra ingredients in the house like you did with other ones I looked at. They all had easy to follow instructions and actually worked too, no disappointments.

Friends have had the MEL one and rate it.

Crunch labs is fantastic. We’ve had it for a year and the girls have really got into it. The quality of the things they make is good, and the explanation videos are brilliant.

Thanks all! I have gone with cruchlabs in the end but on a monthly subscription so we can cancel if he’s not into it. Will check out all the other ideas on here for the future.

@Etotheipiplus1equals0 hi, I just wanted you to ask if you’ve got any feedback to share please on the Crunch Lab subscription?

My son has asked for this for his birthday… do you have to pay import taxes when it’s delivered each month?

Thanks 😊

Just seeing if anyone else had any feedback on crunch labs-ds is a big fan of Mark Rober but it looks very expensive especially if there are import taxes involved

During covid we had the letterboxlab one and the kids were aged 9,11and 13 at the time and they all enjoyed it. Came with everything and was easy to follow and good explanations
