Magnatiles for two year olds?

Hi

I keep hearing how toddlers love magnatiles, but I notice they do all say three plus.

Anyone who has had magnatiles know why this is? Is it just that they think three plus will enjoy more or is there a safety concern?

Has anyone used them younger than three? Dd is 2.5.

Thank you to anyone able to advise!

They'll be fine for 2.5 year old and if they're not now, they soon will be

Bought DD some for her 2nd birthday and she played with them straight away. Then had to buy DH a set for his birthday 2 months later so can confirm they are also suitable for 32 year olds!

We have loads of magnatiles, bought them for my eldest when he was 3.5 and he still plays with them all the time (now 8!) my littlest is nearly 2 and she plays with them now too. They have had so much use here, best toy purchase we made I think.

The 3+ is for safety as they have magnets in (encased in the plastic). I do watch DD when she's playing with them but they've had years of being chucked around and we haven't had any break.

Nearly everything says 3+. DD got some when she was 2, still get played with at least weekly 2 years later. They’re brilliant and I’ve given them as gifts loads of times.

Thank you for all the replies, sounds good! Hope your DH is still enjoying them @Eggling 😀

I love them too! I’d say they’re fine once they’re over the ‘chewing everything’ phase.

I’d get proper branded Magnatiles, rather than cheapo ones. MIL (who is lovely, not bashing her) got some generic ones which cracked, and I worried the magnets would come free. That’s not happened with our proper ones which get very heavy use.
