Need help finding the right lego set

I'm trying to find some lego or compatible lego for my young grandsons. I:ve picked bits up from charity shops and a set of bricks from wilkos. But all have hundreds of tiny bits which they don't really need. So looking for kits to make building with windows and roofs like I had in the 70's. Looked on Lego site and it's all a bit overwhelming. Can anyone recommend any good value sets.

I'd look on eBay. Lego do brick sets not great on things like windows etc. It's all themes sets nowadays.

Yes I'm after the complete opposite of a themed set.

Lego does boxes of bricks. I think it's called "classic"

Big yellow boxes of classic are in my sainsburys and in smyths. Do you have either of them near you?
