I’m lost. What’s good to get for a 1 year old? Any big ticket items?

Not a big ticket item but by far the most used toy for both my DC at that age... stacking cups.

Mine’s into a ramp that you put little cars on that roll down.

Also musical instruments - bells, drums, shakers and that sort of thing. Big ticket items is harder though! My first got an activity cube and a walker. The trikes that you push along (smartrike I think) are fun.

Sand pit
Toddler swing that can adapt to normal swing in the future.
Mega Bloks
Click clack track
Personalised dinner set (my DC got theirs for their christening and still use them)
Vtech activity table

They definitely don’t need deliberately ‘big ticket’ items, but robust well made things that interest them.

Sand pit.
Toy kitchen.
Ride on.
Walker (the push ones)

For smaller buys which are also popular with my girl;
Lego duplo or cheap versions.
Toy piano.

Colouring books and crayons.
