My parents and MIL have asked what they can buy my almost one year old, I'm drawing a blank. What good gifts did you get for your DC's first birthday? He has an older sibling so inherited a lot of her old toys.

my mil bought my dds (twins) this to share and it was a very big hit (we still have it now, 3 years later). i used to strap them in to the seat and gently rock them back and forth, which they loved. when they get older they can rock it themselves and my dds use it to play imaginary games (they are 3 now). all the best x

A really nice set of wooden blocks of various shapes and sizes is a wonderful gift. My children played with theirs for years.

My Lo loved this. He clocked up a few miles with it! www.woodentoyshop.co.uk/push-along-wooden-parrot.html He also had a wooden pull along dog which he loved.

All mine loved glove puppets. They all had a good quality puppet for their first Christmas and they were a huge part of their childhood.
