Which Gaming Machine for 8, 6 & 4 year olds?

Hi. I am trying to decide which gaming machine to get for my children, aged 8 years, 6 years and 4 years old. But we have never owned one, so I don't know anything about them.

I have heard Nintendo is better than Xbox or Playstation for this age group. Do you agree?

I have the option of buying a second-hand Wii with lots of accessories and games. Or I could buy a Switch. However, I worry as soon as they see it is portable, fights over who has it will start.

All advice welcome!

My children are similar ages and I wouldn't consider this an appropriate toy.

We have an old Wii and the kids love it 8 year old and cousins. Can get them cheap 2nd hand games at cex too.

Also have an old xbox which she is playing a bit now. Get an older one you can buy 2nd hand games for as they can cost a fortune. If buying from CEX it's second hand but the shop checks it works properly first.

Thanks LML83. We did end up buying the Wii and it is perfect for the kids. I love how they are so active when they play it - no sitting on their bums for hours... they are exhausted after not too long. Ideal for rainy days.
