How can I get 3 button cell batteries into a tight space on a spring!

How can I get 3 button cell batteries into a tight space on a spring, in the bottom of a Thomas train, without them jumping over on their sides?

Flat head screwdriver to hold the first two in place whilst you slide the third one in.
