Scuttlebug or smart trike for 1 year old?

I'm choosing between a scuttlebug and a smart trike for a 1 year old. After a quick google, it looks like I'm not the first person to ask this question but I didn't get much sense from reading other people's threads. Price isn't an issue but I'm just wondering which would be more suitable for his age? Has anyone bought either of these and if so, would you recommend them? I know some parents who have smart trikes and they've given me mixed reviews.

Also looking at wheelybugs - they just look so cute! Thinking it could be one of those toys that is mostly an ornament?

Baby is currently cruising not walking yet!

My dd would have struggled with a scuttle at 1 as she's so short and she also didn't have the skills to move sit on toys forward.

The good thing with a smart trike is that it grows with your child but my now 2 year old dd still can't reach the pedals and isn't too interested in me pushing her around. I would buy second hand as with my friends children I'm finding smart trikes are something children either adore or are indifferent too
