Hot wheels recommendations

Hi my DS (4) has become obsessed with cars recently and is constantly asking for hot wheels (thanks to bloody Ryans toy review), can anyone recommend a decent set to get him, he loves building his own ramps and would enjoy some kind of ramp set that keeps the cars on the track.

Are they worth the money or just a big waste?

He's got a birthday coming up after the summer so don't mind spending a bit to get a decent one but don't want it taking up half the house!

Ah, watching as I've just decided I might add a hotwheels track to DSs 7th birthday haul.

In theory he's 'grown out' of hotwheels but actually he plays with his box of cars a lot and when the local street urchins are inside because of rain it is often the hotwheels track that come out.

Good to know it's still being played with at 7. Hopefully some hot wheels expert will stop by to advise...
