A ball on a string/wire with a hook clip

Hi, whilst out today, we saw a girl (around 7-8 yrs old) playing with a ball on a string/wire with a hook attached to her belt. My daughter really liked it, so tried googling it, but can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know the name of this? it was almost the size of a football, if that helps!

They have them in Toys R Us. Don't know what they are called - they are in the outdoor sports bit.
