Son has asked Santa for his lost jellycat bunglie honey bear from 9 years ago

My 9 year old son has written his list to Santa and has asked for the exact jellycat bear he was given by his dad and myself when he was born that he lost this past summer on a school trip.

It was his favourite bear and the only one he ever slept with at night so it breaks my heart he is asking Santa for it.
We have given him a larger version of the same bear but we cannot find an exact match to give him from Santa. Please please please, if anyone has one that isn't a special toy to them I would be so grateful to buy it. I can only find a large one which we have already bought him at the time of losing his bear.

Ah bless him! I can't help apart from bumping for you. Have you tried contacting jellycat? www.jellycat.com/customer-care/

CluelessNewbie1 · 29/11/2014 21:27

Ignore my link I think its the wrong bear

loopyarabella · 29/11/2014 21:33

It's not this one is it? I don't want to get your hopes up unnecessarily.

pullingmyhairout2 · 29/11/2014 21:33

Probably a stupid question but have you tried eBay?

loopyarabella · 29/11/2014 21:35

Sorry I think that's the bigger one which you already have Sad

FatimaLovesBread · 29/11/2014 21:35

I think I've found one on eBay but it's 16" so I think that's the bigger one.
I sympathise, DD had a jellycat monkey that she stole from DH, I bought that about 8 years ago. She lost it and I managed to find one on eBay

traviata · 29/11/2014 21:43

have you seen this website OP?

so many people looking for jellycat toys, they are obviously much cherished.

MyFirstName · 29/11/2014 22:14

DOn't quite know how this website works - but is this it? www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/jellycat-london-bunglie-honey-teddy-309095145

Thank you everyone, sorry new to mumsnet so didn't realise anyone had commented. The one on eBay is the big one which we have tried replacing with straight after we list it. I thought he had actually got over it but after opening his Christmas list to Santa I was gutted. Thank you. Hoping someone has one that isn't a special teddy to them x

Keep trawling the Internet OP.

Jellycats are notorious for discontinuing their lines. We had something similar happen. We lost ds' fave medium sized Jellycat bear when he was two. He was upset, I was gutted. We bought a bigger one, but it just wasn't the same.

I eventually tracked one down in a toy shop in Atlanta, US via their website. I had it sent over (postage cost more than the bear). But I don't care. He's still a much loved bear 4 years on.

Keep looking. I'll have a look as well. If a load of us keep looking, we'll find him.

I know ive looked most of today again. He had a belly button seen in also and there seem to be very few of those! Thank you
