Definitely try hip hop hen www.hiphophen.com - they have three educational and fun apps. You can buy them all through itunes. They have kept my 3 year old entertained on long flights and a few rainy days as well!
Educational but such fun. Most beautiful high quality illustrations i've seen on an app.
Also my daughter loves the Noisy Crow apps. Pip and Posy a favourite!

Tozzle is a nice Jigsaw game for toddlers.

Duck duck moose do some good ones. DS loves fish school and the nursery rhyme ones are fun.
