Title says it all really, a friend really recommends it but it seems quite expensive and the books are then another expense on top so was wondering what others thoughts were.
My daughter is 3 1/2 years and loves reading books. We read books with her throughout the day and then has two stories at bedtime but she loves sitting and 'reading' on her own.
Thank you!

We were bought one as a present but it doesn't get used all that much. I think we perhaps don't give it the best chance as we usually get it out as a novelty present while out and about, but of course the sound isn't very clear because of background noise.

Also it's a bit chaotic as it makes random noises or story lines depending on wherever you point the pen, and no toddler that I know is going to actually point it in order of the story.

Mine just got a bit bored, but then again, to be fair, sometimes we get a second wind and revisit old toys with renewed enthusiasm so maybe it's not reached its peak interest yet.
