Happyland and Little People

I'm thinking of buying a couple of pieces of each. But do they work together i.e. can the people etc be used successfully with the alternate brand's buildings and vehicles? Or did you find it didn't matter as your dc could play happily with both anyway?

I love the look of them both but maybe I'm just being greedy

No they have different sized bottoms so for example the Happyland people won't fit in the Little People car and so on. My DD still plays with both anyway and doesn't seem to mind. Happyland periodically comes on special offer, I think it's expensive at full price.
