So my DD is 4 and about to start reception. We're tentatively thinking about one of these things. Which one is better, a 2 or a 3? What's included? Do you find yourself always needing to get more apps/ updates/ games etc and does that cost loads too? Are they more for fun stuff or can it be edukashunal too...?! Wink
TIA..

I got DS an Innotab 2 for his 4th b'day recently. A couple of people got him a cartridge for his b'day. These have kept him going so far, but he is not playing on it THAT much - maybe an hour a week or so, so it has been fine so far. The apps are OK and only about £2.99 each, I let him pick one before going on hols - he chose one where he has to count dogs. I am a little wary of Vtech's approach to phonics as don't think it is the correct way - teaches letter names rather than sounds mostly, but think it is quite a cool little gadget - you can also download songs and videos. Like that you can download stuff, but without free reign on the internet.

My dd got a leappad for her 5th birthday.

There are cheaper and more expensive apps. So full games, the same as you would get on a cartridge or shorter games.

You can also watch videos.

Pretty much all of it is educational.
