Scuttlebug or 3 in 1 micro scooter?

My DS has just turned one and DH has just ordered him a scuttlebug. But now I've had a look at the 3 in 1 micro scooter and think it looks really great and that he will love it. Our childminder's daughter has a scooter that he loves to push around so I'm thinking this might be a better purchase. He's been walking since about 9 months so I would imagine either would be fine for him? But more life out of the scooter? Any advice or experience with either would be greatly appreciated!

My DD had a scuttlebug for her first birthday and soon got the hang of it and despite being quite tall and mobile she still loves it at 2.2! I'm not sure she would have been using the scooter right away, and are considering getting one for Christmas.

i eould go for the micro scooter you mean with the seat attachment? will last for years.

my dd has bern on scuttle bygs and yes she can use them but the much prefers the micro scooter which is better quality and sturdier.

scuttlebugs are crap for outside and you cant go any distance on them. micro scooter great as they get older and they dont want to walk or go in the pushchair!

I agree with scuttlebugs being rubbish for outdoors. I'm getting my 1yo dd a trike/balance bike for Xmas. Some of dd1s friends had balance bikes and can ride beautifully without stabilizers now at 4yo, so I'm hoping dd2 will learn too. I thought the bunzi/chillafish ones on zulily look great.
