Guitar for 5 year old

My son is keen on a guitar for his birthday and really wants the ELC one but I am not sure if that does very much and/or is too babyish and wondered if it would be better to get a Paper Jamz or 1/2 size real guitar. Thoughts please...

Buy a proper one from a music shop - DD has this one - infinitely less annoying than toy ones, and she has been having lessons as well.

have you thought about a ukulele? i got my ds3 one for xmas and he loves it as do my other boys, its little but like a normal guitar and meant to be very good for childrne to learn to play, my ds3 is getting lessons at school. they are very reasonably priced as well :)
