www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/china/8944028/One-third-of-Chinese-toys-contain-heavy-metals.html

I was reading the article above which states that almost one in three toys in China contain toxic heavy metals, potentially harmful to children. Many of these toys find their way into the UK and overseas markets. Does anyone know if there are any brands of toys that are actually made in Britain?

Sounds way too alarmist to me, for one thing the toys where bought in China so it's the kind of crap you find on market stalls, for another thing if they are going to be bothered about things kids are breathing in perhaps they should turn their attention towards the horrendous amounts of air pollution in this country, caused by peoples insistence on driving everywhere in damned cars.

I think you are worrying about nothing, children who are old enough to have metal toys are way past the chewing stage and should be washing their hands before eating anyway, no doubt we where exposed to far more then kids are today, I used to play with Matchbox and Corgi cars and I clearly remember buying Warhammer lead figures.
