DS turns 5 after xmas and is quite tall for his age.
His first bike is now stupidly small for him, so a new one has been promised for crimbo
I reckon he could comfortably manage 16" wheels, DH wants to go for 18" on the grounds that he will probably manage it fine in a few months and the bike will then last longer. My worry is that he will not be able to manage 18" straight away, so will be upset he cant ride it, or worse he will try and ride it, fail, fall off etc and then lose his confidence in cycling
Advice ?
my latest suggestion is that we buy a 16" second hand one then if it doesnt last too long, its not the end of the world. Plus DD might inherit it later in any case.
