too many to choose from? I quite like the family camper van :)

We've got dino sets, vet sets, pirate ship, take along farm, police boat and dragon between my 2 DS. 'Santa' has just got them a zoo set too. They love Playmobil. Toysrus is doing quite a good deal on playmobil at the moment - if you spend over £45 you get a free £17 Playmobil advent calendar. Or there's a Noah's ark which is £40 reduced from £70. John Lewis is cheapest for the Large Zoo £51 but out of stock at the mo.

Some things you do have to look at closely - my DS was really interested in the mansion house (not really something I seriously considered though as its over £100) - but it is just the house with just a couple of extras - what's advertised on the TV is the mansion house packed to the brim with additional costly playsets!

The camper van does look good though! I love Playmobil stuff.....my DSs get such a lot of value out of it as they generally use all the bits and bobs for various imaginary scenarios not connected with the original design. My DH HATES Playmobil because of all the minute little bits to pick up!!

I think it depends on your dc's tastes. For example, if your child loves fire engines, then the fire/rescue theme might appeal. I would suggest several sets from one theme, so they can all be used together, which gives them more scope. So maybe if you chose the camper van, somebody else could give them the beach set etc.

We have the camper van, and it is very good. But then we like most Playmobil!

The camper van has lots of fiddly wee bits, I got it for DS when e was 4 and it hasn't been played with too much. I would say it's maybe better for slightly older children He loves the dinosaur stuff though, and the pirate ship. John Lewis got 20% off at the moment but quite a lot is out of stock now as a result!
