This Skylander thing...

What is it?! Would it be suitable for a 6yo?

I've read that you need to buy lots of extra packs to make the game worthwhile, but I can't work out what - can anyone help? If I buy a wii pack, what else do I need for a 6/7 year old? Thanks!

I have got this for ds who is 5.5.
It's for christmas do he hasn't played it yet.
You can complete the game with the 3 characters included in the starter pack.
The extra characters open up extra levels but are not necessary.
The good thing about the game is that the actual characters are interchangeable between gaming systems, so if your dc had a wii and their friends had an Xbox your child could take their characters to their friends to play on their skylanders game!
