Best bicycle for three year old?

Looking for a present from soon-to-be-born sister for her older sister. Not a balance bike.

Saw something once that looked like a tiny mountain bike, sturdy, with a box on the back?

isla bikes are good. Kids bikes are often really heavy which makes them hard to use. Isla bikes don't do that.

puky are also meant to be good.

many thanks. Islabikes was the one I saw I think.

We are cheapskates so at teh complete oposite end of the spectrum we posted a wanted on freecycle ds' first bike and were very kindly given one of these. Ds was 4 but pretty small. He learned to ride it in no time and we recently got him a bigger one from Argos in the sale. My 2 and a half year old now rides the freecycle one with ease.

Course if you get a normal bike and he struggles you can just take the pedals off and use it as a balance bike.

We have an Isla bike and a puky. IMO if you have a child who is quite well balanced and confident around bikes/scooters and trikes then Isla bikes are fantastic. DD loves hers; it's light and she can ride it really well. DS on the other hand wasn't as confident around bikes and so we got a puky which weighs a tonne but is very sturdy and easy to use (low leg bar to get on and off) - he didn't get on with the Isla bike at all but asks to go on his puky every day (he turned 4 a few weeks ago btw).

Thanks, think I'll go with a puky as she's a bit teeny for islabikes, then maybe I'll chop it in for an isla further down the line.

Thanks for the advice.
