Can't decide what to get him.

we all ready have a set of magnetic construction vehicles and emergency vehicles from ELC we got in a half price sale last year, going to get him or tell someone else to get him some jumbo crayons and paper.

I can't decide on the main present which is better?

A garage thing which has a helicopter pad, lift and ramp, comes with a car and a helicopter and has a portable garage for the car and petrol pump, makes a few sounds, I think it's made by a company called Little Steps and is in the Tesco Catalog for £25.

Or a fisher price little people farm set, comes with 5 figures and makes sounds I'm not sure if it really does anything else but £35.

A Fisher Price Noah's Ark.

I'm not sure which is best I'm basing all my buys on what I liked as a kid (painting and cars) without really knowing if that what he'd want.

Things that my DS got around 12-18 months that still have play value (now 2.8):

ELC happyland
Wooden trike (ours came from elc)
Pop up tent and tunnel
Brio starter train set
Garage
Sand/water table for garden

So out of your list I'd go with the garage!

I thought Brio was 3 years+

You can get 'my first' Brio sets like this one which are for 18 month plus. My DS played (with supervision) with this from not long after his first birthday. It links with all the stuff that's marketed at 3 years plus so can be built on in the future.
