Vtech V Smile - worth having?

I accidentally bought a V-Smile art pad in the charity shop today without realising it needed to be plugged into a console thingy that goes into the telly.

There are plenty of the consoles available on ebay and the like - but are they worth having? DS is only wee at the moment (2 in June) but I tend to buy things and lay them down if I see them cheap (only paid £3 for the art pad thing)

Would he get any use out of it now? Are they any good generally?

Bit late reading your message but wanted to say my DS got a V-Tech V smile for his 2nd birthday and he has used it almost constantly since (will be 5 in May).

There are quite a few games avail for it but I would avoid the Thomas one as the graphics are terrible and they can't really see what is going on! DS has the Toy Story & Dora games and both are good.........

If you can get one cheap - I'd def go for it, even if just to put away for later

Oh we did the same re the art pad! Eventually got a v smile, and it's Ok, but not that exciting mind you we only have Thomas, wall e and the art pad thing.

Both mine have ds's now so it's kind of slow compared to that and they find the joystick hard to use (so do I actually, it's too quick) but apart from that it's not bad.
