Toy Farm

Can anyone recommend a really good toy farm, that their children have enjoyed playing with.

I'm trying to find one for son's birthday present.

Ems, I bought ds and dd (4 and 2) a toy farm last Christmas from Tridias (a toy shop based in Bath, but they have a website, Tridias.co.uk, currently being updated). It's a wooden one, cost about £50, but then you have to buy animals etc on top of that. I think it's lovely(!), ds and dd didn't touch it for months, but it is now a real hit with them and their friends.

We've got the same one, I think, and got it from Dawsons which sells lovely wooden and trad toys and whose customer service is great. It is sturdily made and can be dismantled to fold flat if necessary. Our son (2 and a bit) plays with it constantly. No animals etc supplied but Dawsons are selling good quality plastic ones this year as well, I see. Definitely worth the money.

Thanks Sid and Marina, I'd forgotten Tridias. It was having seen the Dawsons one that I thought what a nice idea it would be, but obviously would like to shop around.

I saw that ELC were doing tubes of small animals for £5.

Anyone else have any suggestions for this as my son is also completely animal mad and has started making noises about farm yards? I have looked at the Dawsons one and whilst it is lovely it is quite pricey.

Debster. I've seen ELC have got a new farm in, it's about £25, simple and colourful, not as beautiful as Dawsons, but cheaper! I'm still looking.

Farm update: magazine through the door this morning: next door tel:0845 458 9292. They have a very nice farmyard for £44.99. And lots of other nice wooden toys.
