What does your 5yr old daughter play with?

Dd2's 5th birthday is coming up. She doesn't really 'play' with any of her toys which are probably a bit too young for her anyway. Have tried to introduce her to Polly Pocket, Barbie etc when playing at friends but she is not interested. What do your 5yr old girls play with? Or don't they?

Mostly soft toys and baby dolls and imaginary play

We have lots of birthday celebrations with this

She has some 'play silks' which are great for 'wrapping up' the birthday gifts as well as making beds for the baby dolls, dressing up, dance shows.

Also wooden train set and Duplo and dolls house

Hama beads

dd plays with polly pockets, barbies, imaginary play - ie schools with her soft toys (she is the teacher)

But the main thing she loves doing is crafts - she is constantly making cards for all her friends and would do this for absolutely hours on end if I left her to her own devices.

She also loves dressing up - but that's only if she's got other friends round. They mostly like dressing up in each others clothes though rather than prebought outfits!

Craft stuff definitely. Hama beads, cutting and sticking, colouring in.

dd adores Sylvanian families and will play with them for hours. She also still really loves her doll house and spends a lot of time setting up schools with all her dolls and soft toys. She has Barbies but is less keen.

DD likes craft stuff, playmobil and her Barbie dolls.
She also likes playing with the garage and cars.

Pretend play with her soft toys
old envelopes that she loves to fill with pictures she's drawn and give them to me 'but I'll look after it for you mummy'

Mm. Seems that dd isn't unusual after all. She too likes pretending to be the teacher to the cats usually and also likes making me 'switch cards' which I receive is old envelopes. She is currently making a ladybird house out of my old filter jug and collecting ladybirds to reside in it. Will get her something crafty I think.

hama beads seem popular with DSD, and dressing up, and baby dolls.

my 5 year old dd plays with her train set, wooden garage, play doh

could u ask her what she would like?

My dd plays a lot with her barbies and baby dolls, but she also loves Playmobil (will play for hours with this), lego, hama beads, drawing/colouring and generally causing chaos with her younger brother.

Oh, and she's recently become obsessed with the Usborne sticker dolly dressing books and is working her way through the entire series faster than I can supply them for her!
