Balance bikes again

So, I've dithered about whether to get DS a balance bike before, and am now wondering if I've left it too late? He's 3.4.

What do you think? Does anyone have a DC who started using a balance bike around this age - how did they get on and what make would you recommend?

Was previously keen on the Islabikes one when DS was about 2.5, because it seemed to be one of the smallest around, but not so sure now a year later...

we used one for DD1 when she was 6-7years old. Def worth it. We just had a tesco one for her and DD2 has a wooden one which is small which we got from TKmaxx.
