I say you cannot go wrong with a box of lego. Is it for your ds or a kids party?

Bionicles - not sure but might be for 8 yrs on but they always need a bit of a challenge or they get bored.

If it's for your own child, what about a really cool sports kite or a flying helicopter/bug thing.

i love wooden toys!

however, if your considering lego there are lots of other brands which are the same size but alot cheaper.
