What's Santa bringing this year?

Please excuse me bringing up the subject of Christmas. I know it is ridiculously early in the year to even be thinking about it. My excuse is I've only one DD and she is 18months old, so this is only her 2nd xmas, but last year we were away for Christmas and she was too young to really know what it was about..ok,ok, she's still really too young to know what it's about, but she'll be more excited to see pressies and she'll be able to rip them open herself this year rather than us having to open them for her iyswim. Those with more and/or older kids are probably dreading the thought of christmas, and maybe in a few years' time I'll be more bah-humbug myself, but I'm looking forward to it this year more than I ever have since I was a tiny kid myself. Grin
So, after all that rambling, my question is what are you planning Santa might bring this year? And any suggestions for an 22 month old girl?? (she will be 22mo by then!) She already has a toy kitchen, rocking horse, dolls... Love the idea of an outdoor playhouse but of course december will be too cold to get much use out of it, so
I have been browsing online this afternoon and like the idea of something like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.toysandinteriors.co.uk/ekmps/shops/toystoys/images/large-gingerbread-cottage-play-house-670-p.jpg&imgrefurl=www.toysandinteriors.co.uk/large-gingerbread-cottage-play-house-670-p.asp&usg=__G6v-HF8rjYTweDnk7G5vP8ju_Ic=&h=324&w=306&sz=152&hl=en&start=0&sig2=SduwG8yxCkezqjRcIRtHnw&zoom=1&tbnid=ZVlTc_PtGi3e6M:&tbnh=113&tbnw=107&ei=jXqXTOzSG8_5OZHbmIkJ&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgingerbread%2Bhouse%2Bplay%2Btent%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1276%26bih%3D542%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=111&vpy=53&dur=47&hovh=231&hovw=218&tx=102&ty=119&oei=jXqXTOzSG8_5OZHbmIkJ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this

Mine are both getting books this year. They both have Christmas/Jan birthdays so they get a big present then to have a proper fuss made of them and just little things for Christmas.

However, if play houses etc are along your line of thinking my mum got them a cardboard folding house between the 2 of them last year when they were 1 and 3. They both loved it an dit is still going strong. They are absolutely wonderful, fold up to fit behind the sofa, take 5 seconds to put up/take down and you can give them a box of crayons and let them loose. It still comes out a couple of times a week although they are running out of drawing space!

this sort of thing although I think ours is smaller.

I did my xmas shopping this morning for my two dc's . My 11yr old ds is getting a laptop & dsi xl & a skateboard & Lego kits .
DD (4yrs) is getting a Dora playhouse , Dora bath time doll , Dsi xl , baking sets , Jigsaws & dress up costumes , Peppa pig roller skates , & a scooter.
Still have to get in their stocking fillers Smile .

When dd was 2 she loved Aqua-draw & her princess ride on bike .

You might find some useful ideas in the christmas topic. Lots of people planning Christmas already Grin

iwilldothis · 21/09/2010 11:14

thank you, goddess, I looked for a christmas topic before posting this but didn't see one....so I obviously didn't look hard enough!! Blush
easily thanks for the link to the cardboard houses....I love that idea....might very well get that. I had seen them somewhere before and thought being made of cardboard it wouldn't last long, but you say it's still going strong after nearly a year....so that's good then :) and folding flat is an added bonus.

Iwilldothis, we bought one of those playhouses for my dd's 1st birthday - it was the smaller one so not quite so expensive but still a major indulgence and probably more for my delight than for hers! But it remains one of our most loved toys - both dd who is now 5 and her little brother have loved it so much. We only recently moved it out of their bedroom to make space for a wardrobe, but had it out in the garden for most of the summer. It has been a space ship, a shop, a dolls' hospital, and gave them a cosy little hidey hole in their room to read books and hide from us. So I would deffo recommend it! Smile

Although I'm sure I've seen cheaper versions of it recently - can't think where though, ELC maybe?

DaisyDaresYOU · 24/09/2010 07:07

Ive just started collecting Hm armed forces stuff for ds

HeftyNorks · 24/09/2010 07:28

My DS is getting some Kung Zhu Hamster stuff.
For his birthday (20th December) he is getting a basic digital camera.

BargainHuntress · 28/09/2010 09:24

I'll definitely be investing in some Toy Story related toys this year - Can't get enough of that Buzz Lightyear! :)
