this?

My questions are a) is it any good and b) is it a light fitting, or just a 'thing' you stick to your ceiling?

AM thinking of blowing the decorating budget for our new little playroom.

All feedback warmly recieved Smile

Yes, ds1 has this.

It isn't a light fitting, but the sun does light up in the middle (battery powered), so it is just a "thing" to stick up on the ceiling. It is a bit noisy when it is turning, but ds1 loves it (he is into all things planets though at the moment - he is 5 years old). It is remote control operated and the remote has a light in it which you can use to point out the planets.

Sounds like it might be a nice thng to have. Am very tempted by that, and the moon too.

Thanks for the reply.

Oh, btw, it is considerably cheaper from Amazon - see here www.amazon.co.uk/Milton-Explore-Remote-Controlled-System/dp/B000AQJPQE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys&qid=1281626867&sr=8-1

yes it is. Pluto is not even a consideration, but it is putting earth's other moons in that is going to prove tricky Hmm QI has a lot to answer for, so does dave for showing it so early.

Kids are getting to clever for their own good these days Wink

Ooooh that's most impressive DidEinsteinsMum. Your name should surely be DidEinsteinsMumEncourageGeniusThroughQuilting. It isn't as easy to type but it's a fair question.

Can you rustle me up one of those space quilts, please? I DD would love one Grin

Thank you for the cheaper purchase price Unseen. Might go someway to perhaps justifying the moon as well.......

I am now thinking that perhaps the mobile would look rather cracking on the top landing outside the dd's bedroom and our bedroom. It is the very top of the house, and might make a nice feature. One day we are having clouds painted on the ceiling [when you have climbed our 3 flights of stairs you feel like you might be in the clouds].

I'm quite excited. Smile

Tree that sound lovely. As for the blanket - well it has been suggested that I should set up a business so that might be something to add to the considerations.

AS for the name would love to but hq had limited the lengths of name. My full name is a question and was "Did Einsteins mum have this much trouble and if not why not?" Ds is bright and had a lot of problems. Thankfully he is settling down with age. Although he is the only 5 year I know who can accurately draw a picture of a molecule unaided or prompted.

Butterfly - yep the moon is patchworked, cut into te curve and then appliqued. as for the planets they are detachable and have button holes. The book I am working from have a camp scene and there is a fabulous 3D effect tree in the picture. Can pass on details if you are interested. I thought it would take aged but treated myself to a rotary cutter, mat and ruler and rustled up a patchworked table cloth topper in one evening. Spent 2 hours quilting it tonight and reckon I have another 3 tomo. Then will just have the edging to do. Keep it small and it will be easier. Full bed size quilt is time consuming and the cost is increasing rather rapidly. But then as it is the main christmas present ds will get, it is no worse then the gethering of toys he would have had other wise and this will last longer.
