Being sick everyday for 4 weeks

inkgirl · 14/08/2026 01:39

As the title says. Ive been sick everyday for the last 4 weeks, usually just a little. This time it was quite a bit. Not sure why I was sick as not eaten nice lunch time. I have a doctor's appointment on the 19th for something else. Do I wait till then and talk about it adding to a list of things I have to talk to them about or call 111 in the morning? I'm not pregnant. Pregnancy tests are negative so not sure why I'm being sick. Dont usually get stomach pains with the sickness and nausea but tonight I'm in a fair bit of pain right in the centre of my stomach.

I can’t see any reference to gastritis on what you have screen shot

They told me it was gastritis and a stomach ulcer and then put different on my discharge papers

Lose weight

Yes. So focus on that. Diet. Increase movement. Thinking carefully about what you eat. Back to work tomorrow. Onwards and upwards

Gastritis is a general term for inflammation of the gut, usually the upper part. Bile acid reflux causes gastritis. Oesophagitis is a more specifically named part of the whole gastritis label.

A stomach ulcer may have been suggested as a possible cause, but then they ruled that out.

So I don't see that anything has really changed in terms of diagnosis.

A stomach ulcer certainly wasn’t mentioned throughout thread until just then

a lot of vagueness

but anyway, the Op is going to address diet and weight, back to work tomorrow, kids back next week. Life goes on

Turns out that gastritis isn’t the diagnosis after all

No buit it mentions a previous histry of gastritis and oesophagitis they have diagnosis bile acid reflux which is managed with the medication she was given to take home and diet
There is no mention of any scan on the letter so if this does continue id still.go back.to the.gp.

Op you are doing all the right things. It has taken me three years to get things under control. I am off everything including Rennies now, and just keep some pepto bismol in for a really bad flare. I found anti acids had a rebound effect. Stress can be one of the triggers and I have lost quite a lot of weight, but these things are a process. I also found that I had to give up dairy. I don't seem to be able to digest some fats well.

The fear of the pain can bring it on, so I think that's why people are suggesting distraction. It sounds like you have a really busy life, but I do find listening to a short meditation or some EDMR music can really help. I think that is is to do with the vagus nerve.

Good luck this week, hope today goes well.

Ah really, don't think I can handle anymore stomach cramps

Miso soup is soy, so if you have an intolerance or sensitivity to soy it will cause problems. Soy is an allergen for some people. It works for my, somewhat sensitive, stomach, that has a few other intolerances! You'll probably need to test at some point what works for you and what doesn't, something like an elimination diet. Hope you feel better soon

Thank you , I'm really struggling today. I did end up ringing the doctor just because I'm not keeping fluids down again and they've put me on a different anti sickness tablet and some bascapan see how I go over the next few hours if no better I have to ring back up

Oh ok think I'm ok with soy. I know if i eat too much bread it can set it off so only rarely have that. Actually too much of anything sets it off

Wheat/gluten could be an issue for you if bread is a problem. It sucks, but for me the symptoms I got eating wheat and dairy aren't worth the taste. I would much rather be pain free. Miss cheese a lot though!!

I wouldn't start testing different food groups until you have got to a somewhat stable position, it might be worth seeing a dietician in case some foods are aggravating for you. I went through years of testing, even had minor surgery due to what they found, but was told I wasn't sick enough to see a dietician. Ended up paying privately (it wasn't as expensive as I had expected), and that had the biggest impact. Now slightly limited on what I can eat but almost symptom free.

Tcateh · 24/08/2026 11:27

Op I've changed to proper sourdough bread. It's helping.
Can't remember the name but it's in a clear and blue coloured wrapping.
I can't do brown, am not too bad with white.

Low fodmap foods.

Thats what I'm confused about they told me one thing discharge notes say different

They have written that you previously had gastritis and oesophagitis but that this admission diagnosis is bile reflux. Its all connected. Are you taking the omeprazole and sulfracate at the times they advise, I don't think they are taken together but you can check.

MissMoneyFairy · 24/08/2026 11:33

There's no mention of them doing an xray or a scan, just another camera.

moggiek · 24/08/2026 12:58

OP, you’ve been diagnosed with bile acid reflux, which explains the pain, nausea and yellowish stools. As your GP how this should be treated.

I'm going to have to limit stuff I think figure out what's causing it all.
