Being sick everyday for 4 weeks

As the title says. Ive been sick everyday for the last 4 weeks, usually just a little. This time it was quite a bit. Not sure why I was sick as not eaten nice lunch time. I have a doctor's appointment on the 19th for something else. Do I wait till then and talk about it adding to a list of things I have to talk to them about or call 111 in the morning? I'm not pregnant. Pregnancy tests are negative so not sure why I'm being sick. Dont usually get stomach pains with the sickness and nausea but tonight I'm in a fair bit of pain right in the centre of my stomach.

I wouldn't wait to phone your GP tomorrow (unless that's the only way to contact them). I'd fill in an e-consult form (or whatever online system your GP uses) this evening, where you can explain what's been happening, how you're feeling now and what your concerns still are. They'll see that first thing and most likely give you a call to either come in or talk to someone over the phone.

Edited

Their online forms arent available weekends and evenings, which is a little silly so dont have much choice but to wait.

I'll look into the miso soup when I get paid sounds like they'll be good on my bad days. Mash i know I can handle. But at the moment pretty much everything makes me feel ill again

If you like the taste of miso soup, it's cheaper to just buy a tub of miso (it keeps in the fridge for ages), and add it to water or broth.

Acid reflux and something to do with my esophagus didnt mention gastritis like they were telling me

If there's no diagnosis if gastritis on your discharge notes then perhaps the oramorph was appropriate. Your discharge paper will have a diagnosis, either confirmed or suspected.

@inkgirl sorry if you have answered this but where is your pain and on what side? X

You keep saying that “they didn’t seem bothered”first about the vomiting; then about the pain; then about the bowel movements; then about the colour of faeces; then about fact you didn’t respond to morphine…..

You have just spent a week in hospital and have had thousands upon thousands of pounds worth of tests conducted on you.

”They” were bothered. They just found basically nothing to be concerned about.

Then you probably want to test whether you like it or not with the sachets first. I love it, but it might be an acquired taste. But it is extremely good for you!

Miso soup gave me horrific stomach cramps and diarrhoea, from what I googled that isnt rare, so I'd be cautious. Its a shame as I do like it!

With respect, gastritis is a condition, not an illness. You have to learn to live with a condition, not suffer from it. Same with asthma, diabetes, etc.

Yes, you need to find a way to manage it, and try different things in order to do so, but reporting every time you are sick isn't helping you manage it, it just entrenches you deeper. It isn't something hospital will solve - they have done what they can and it sounds as if they have been very thorough.

Try to up your game - distraction, diversion, get out and about. This can all happen alongside gastritis. I am not saying it will make it go away, but your quality of life will be so much better.

Astoreilike · 24/08/2026 07:31

What is your diet like @inkgirl ?
and your weight?

Turns out that gastritis isn’t the diagnosis after all

I do, they've put reason for coming in was vomiting and abdominal pain. And then something about acid reflux and gastritis

I can’t see any reference to gastritis on what you have screen shot

watermybegonias · 24/08/2026 07:38

Gastritis is a general term, and I was using it that way.

I am a little over weight which I was trying to lose before all this anyway. Diet could do with improving still but its not as bad as it was
