My Dad married a woman twenty years younger, he will likely die before her. Does that mean I am unlikely to inherit?

I think it does doesn’t it?

My mum died 10yrs ago. My mum and dad divorced when I was 9. Mum went on to marry my step-dad, and they were married for 40yrs. I was never adopted by my step dad. They had a good life together.
My step dad now has a 2nd wife, and I doubt I will receive any inheritance - our relationship has drifted since my mum died. I dont think that my dad's 2nd wife will be leaving me anything in her Will - I'm not a blood relation to either of them.

It’s a shame there wasn’t provision for you in her will from your stepdad or Mum.

Wow I hadn’t realised it was such an awful thing to ask actually. I’ll ask chat gpt instead 😂

I don't think it's awful.....it's a perfectly reasonable question x

If your Dads health deteriorates in old age and he requires residential care then there won’t be anything to inherit.

Or, like in lots of European countries, families step in to help with care of their parents....so there will something to inherit

My father married a significantly younger woman. Not once in 20 years have I spent time thinking about inheritance...

I genuinely hope that my stepmother and younger half siblings will be well taken care of and get all of whatever there is.

Strange
