This is sooo dodgy. There’s no recent photos of them, no one knows why they were there.
They were fully clothed. Handbags on the beach.
Their mum was found dead in a lake 16 yrs ago in Birmingham.
Police have reviewed 100’s of hours og cctv footage and nothing.
What the actual fuck?!

So you don't know the area, but you know better than someone who lives and swims there? This thread is appalling,

lol someone didn’t read the thread.

Did you miss where I wrote that I live in Brighton too?

your post is appalling and aggressive

I didn’t write ‘I don’t know the area’. I wrote that I don’t know EXACTLY where the Groynes are down there.

this is the stupidest theory I have ever heard

Why? It's a perfectly conceivable theory

Why do you get so many photos taken of the two of you together? The only photos of DH and I together that happen nowadays are at formal occasions when they're generally part of group shots. As for my brother, although I seem him fairly often, the only photo I've got of myself with him was at one family wedding five years ago. Not everyone is the same about taking endless photos of people they see all the time.

I do it to have a record of the times we have togther. Nothing to do with social media. Maybe it’s a family thing. My Mum always took loads of photos and printed them out and put them in albums and I love looking at photos from when we were young? Didn’t realise that was strange!

DP’s parents were the same so I’m not sure my family are the anomaly here. And all my friends. Nothing to do with instagram posing but having a record of memories. Do people really take no photos of their kids?

I dont expect people to take constant selfies but you dont have any photos of your own children? not even one since they were like, 13 and now they are in their 30s?

Sorry thats odd.

I can count on zero fingers the number of photos my dad and my step mum have taken of me.

A lot of people get silly after drink. I often see people down around the Brighton beach area after a night out.

My friends son lives there- he said the same. Anyone living local wouldn't go anywhere near there at that time of night in those conditions- the wind was almost 40mph

Well yes, there are plenty of step sister - it's step mum who is the photo taker not dad. It's not sinister or sad. It's just how it worked for us. We get along well but I didn't particularly want her taking photos of me!

Yes I think the tragic explanation will be that one got too close to the water and ended up in trouble and the other sisters tried to rescue her. It happens way too often and it's so sad for the family.

alloutofcareunits · 28/05/2026 09:24

The lack of photos implies none of the sisters had a driving licence or passport. And most jobs require an ID badge or photo in HR, my DH, DD and I all do very different jobs but all have work ID badges. Did the women not have any of these? Which appears unusual.

The family said they didn't have a recent one of the three of them together, not that recent individual photos didn't exist. And they are under no obligation to provide any photos to any media outlet. If people in the area don't remember seeing three woman together in the early hours I doubt photos are going to make any difference.

SurreySenMum26 · 28/05/2026 09:30

I'm a strong swimmer. I went swimming early one morning in the sea at the breakers knocked me off my feet just where they was lapping at the beach. I could swim out against it so decided to let it carry me off and roll me back onto the beach 15 metres down the current. What I didn't see was the wooden divider things. I know how to breath in cold water. I knew I could try harder to get out into deep water ( but would have needed help then).

It's amazing how powerful the sea is even on a calm day for a experiencedswimmer. Plus you cant see riptides in the dark. I guess the urge to save a love one is strong.

Poor ladies. So incredibly sad whatever happened.

alloutofcareunits · 28/05/2026 09:31

@CypressGrovei agree the family aren’t obligated to provide anything to satisfy public curiosity, but surely recent individual photos would have been more logical than an odd AI created one.

But often people in severe shock and grief aren't thinking logically. And they just wanted a nice image if it was going to be plastered all over the internet and dissected by a heap of people.

I can confirm that - I live within walking distance of where the three women died. The sea was very choppy and the weather was rather cold. No way would I have gone anywhere near the seafront at that time of the night.

I think this is what is hard to understand. Even if the most likely scenario is one of them decided to paddle and got swept in by a wave and the others went it to help.

It was a really cold, windy night and a paddle in the choppy Brighton sea would have no way been appealing. The timings make no sense. Where had they been until 4.30/5am. There must be some CCTV. Do the police even know where they were staying?

fundamentallyauthentic · 28/05/2026 09:46

Local or not, most people wouldn’t have gone out for a paddle at that time and when it wasn’t even warm.

This thread is representative of a society whereby people think they know everything, when really they know absolutely fuck all! I think all the armchair detectives should get back in their box.

They were found at that time. Nobody knows what time they entered the water.

I think you should learn how to online forums work. One rule is that nobody likes the posters appointing themselves as thread police.

Also, feel free to request this thread to be deleted. See what happens then.

Yes, I find it a bit odd to click on a thread and comment on the thread, only to lecture other people about why they shouldnt be commenting on the thread 🤔

Like, its ok for me to post on this thread but noone else should be?

I don’t take photographs of myself. I hate having my photo taken and I honestly don’t get this obsession people have with having to photograph themselves constantly.

In this case we’re talking about young women, it is kind of unusual to not have any recent photos at all.

Not even taken by themselves and shared?

Not adding to the speculation here but just saying. It’s not typical.

FluffOffFFS · 28/05/2026 10:02

A 17yo girl was pulled off her bike, raped and murdered after a night out in the Netherlands a while ago. Her last name was not released, nor were any pictures, at the request of her family. Quite possible this family do not want any pictures released, for whatever reason. They don't owe anyone a picture or an explanation for a lack thereof.
