Can someone help me understand my body composition results?

I used to train heavy around 6 years ago before having my first baby. Then took a 4 year break (having my second in between last year) . I joined back at the gym in March and been going 2-3 times a week. Other than that I run around after my kids non stop.
I did my body composition and have a few questions if anyone knowledgeable in fitness can answer ?

  1. Why is my metabolic age 14? I am nearly 30! (ignore year on my name it was the only year I could use)
  2. Should I be concerned as to why my trunk muscle mass is so high?
  3. No matter how much I eat, I can't get my fat % up!!!
  4. Just an overall summery of how you think my composition looks would be great

I think it llooks fine. Your stats are very similar to mine apart from your age and body fat % which is lower. That would be the only thing that I would say looks unusual, as it’s quite low for a female (I think it in % rather than kg?). The metabolic age I wouldn’t worry about. I’m not sure how it’s calculated, but I always take these things with a pinch of salt.

I assume this was taken on one of those body scan machines at the gym? I think they are great for a comparison over time, but not sure how accurate they are. I think for accuracy you would have to go for something like a DXA.

Very interested to know what machine you used

These machines are well known for not being very accurate, so beyond them saying things look okay, I wouldn’t pay any further attention to the individual results. Looking at yourself in a mirror is a better idea, alongside things like having good flexibility, decent lung function, a level of strength/muscle and a diet full of fruit and veg, healthy fats and protein etc.

Do you think your body fat is 12%? For a woman that is extremely low ie body building on stage low. Google images of 12% body fat. Unless you are a body builder, I think the trunk measure must be inaccurate.

12% body fat for a woman is very low, which I am certain you are aware of. If you are training for something specific (e.g. a body building competition) and no food problems, normal periods etc this may not be an issue. Otherwise you may need to seek help.

If your body fat really is 12% with that level of muscle mass you’d be stage ready for a bodybuilding show. My guess is that the machine is not accurate.
