So three weeks in with a trainer and I now have a dead lift RM max of 85kg. Let's see if I can beat that before Christmas.

I am 70kg BTW

My max lifts

Bench press: 47.5kg 1 x3
Back squat: 57.5kg
Front squat: 50kg
Deadlift: 82.5kg 1x5
Overhead squat: 25kg
Clean and jerk : 35kg

I need to improve my horrible shoulder flexibility to get my elbows up, and overhead squat better.

Wow @Rollerbird I am in awe of your bench press. My upper body strength is quite a lot poorer than I would like.

How long have you been doing CrossFit? I absolutely love it. Can you do double unders, I even got my own skipping rope but I’m really struggling to crack them Confused

I managed 50kg front squat yesterday so v proud of myself!

I’m not doing the open this year, our gym take it very seriously indeed. They were all saying the 20.1 workout was a complete killer. Are you doing it?

My front rack position is really poor. So front squat is tough.
Our gym, is more encouraging with the open. I thought that's how it should be?!
They have both been tough!
Especially the dumbell thrusters in 20.2!

Reviving this thread (in amongst the welter of people who can't read properly & think this forum is about weight loss Hmm. I'm a serial NC but got into lifting via my PT about 2 years ago and love it. I love being strong af

I pulled 350kg on the Prowler/sled thingy at the gym this week (in that harness thingy which gives you a mastectomy).

A PB

And it didn't feel too difficult - it felt easier than when I last pulled a similar but lower weight about 9 months ago - I think I've done 320kg. I had some puff still in me and could have done it again - although my calves today are quite glad I didn't!

And I thought I'd lost condition over CHristmas ...

I've now got a new PB 1rep max on back squats - well, 3 reps actually - at 62.5kg - and I'm recovering from a nasty cold/flu virus and not breathing easily, so extra good really.

Building slowly to body weight 1RM (well, that would be 70kg).

Deadlifts now at a training weight of 60 kg - 3 sets of 5. Trying to establish that underlying strength, so that I can get past my deadlift 1RM which is 80kg or thereabouts.

Deadlift max of 105kg

Slightly more than double my body weight. Struggling to improve on that though.

I've been trying to get past my 1RM of 85kg for ages now, but I'm not doing enough lifting regularly enough to be honest. I'm in the gym or ballet studio 5 days out of 7, with 1 PT session a week, plus Pump classes, ballet & yoga. But I need to find a second day to lift ...

You must be tiny!

I've never thought as myself as tiny. I'm 5'6. I do have a smallish frame, I suppose.

I do weights once a week and circuits usually three times a week. I sometimes run, but I don't really enjoy it.

It's just that I'm 60kg and 5 foot 5 and I'm not hefty. About 50 kg seems tiny to me. Strong as an ox though. Double bodyweight is amazing 👍 👍

I think I may have reached a peak with the deadlift. I've achieved the goal I set myself but I'm worried about injuring my back by going heavier.

My new focus is a body weight exercise; vertical press ups. I can do three but my form is terrible. Out of the gym, they do make a good party piece though. Grin

Another obvious boast. I managed to dead lift 110 kg today.

I started off with 10 reps of 60 to warm up, then 5 each at 80 and 100. I only managed one rep at 110 but I'm still pleased with it.

Wow. Impressive!

I was training today with a warm up of 45 and then a couple of sets at 65 then 4 sets of 3 reps at 75kg. Interspersed with learning to do dips properly. Although using a band to assist.
