So three weeks in with a trainer and I now have a dead lift RM max of 85kg. Let's see if I can beat that before Christmas.

I am 70kg BTW

@linwin I do crossfit too 😁
My max lifts

Bench press: 47.5kg 1 x3
Back squat: 57.5kg
Front squat: 50kg
Deadlift: 82.5kg 1x5
Overhead squat: 25kg
Clean and jerk : 35kg

I need to improve my horrible shoulder flexibility to get my elbows up, and overhead squat better.

Linwin · 09/10/2019 23:23

Wow @Rollerbird I am in awe of your bench press. My upper body strength is quite a lot poorer than I would like.

How long have you been doing CrossFit? I absolutely love it. Can you do double unders, I even got my own skipping rope but I’m really struggling to crack them Confused

Rollerbird · 19/10/2019 19:10

Hi @linwin
Sorry not to reply!
I've been doing crossfit for nearly a year now.
I love it too!
I can do about 3 single doubles connected!
Have you been doing the Open?

Rollerbird · 21/10/2019 21:33

1 x10 overhead squats @ 30kg 😋

Linwin · 22/10/2019 09:41

Well done!
I managed 50kg front squat yesterday so v proud of myself!

I’m not doing the open this year, our gym take it very seriously indeed. They were all saying the 20.1 workout was a complete killer. Are you doing it?

Rollerbird · 22/10/2019 10:23

Well done!
My front rack position is really poor. So front squat is tough.
Our gym, is more encouraging with the open. I thought that's how it should be?!
They have both been tough!
Especially the dumbell thrusters in 20.2!

Reviving this thread (in amongst the welter of people who can't read properly & think this forum is about weight loss Hmm. I'm a serial NC but got into lifting via my PT about 2 years ago and love it. I love being strong af

I pulled 350kg on the Prowler/sled thingy at the gym this week (in that harness thingy which gives you a mastectomy).

A PB

And it didn't feel too difficult - it felt easier than when I last pulled a similar but lower weight about 9 months ago - I think I've done 320kg. I had some puff still in me and could have done it again - although my calves today are quite glad I didn't!

And I thought I'd lost condition over CHristmas ...

Rollerbird · 17/01/2020 19:45

Awesome
I would love to try one.
Our gym doesn't have that.

Bubblemonkey · 26/01/2020 09:44

5ft 4, 15st 8, started lifting again in November. Going for a 85kg squat next week

Dolorabelle · 26/01/2020 13:21

Woohoo! Go for it Bubblemonkey Most I’ve done is 60kg so not quite body weight.

Dolorabelle · 13/02/2020 22:32

I've now got a new PB 1rep max on back squats - well, 3 reps actually - at 62.5kg - and I'm recovering from a nasty cold/flu virus and not breathing easily, so extra good really.

Building slowly to body weight 1RM (well, that would be 70kg).

Deadlifts now at a training weight of 60 kg - 3 sets of 5. Trying to establish that underlying strength, so that I can get past my deadlift 1RM which is 80kg or thereabouts.

PhoneLock · 14/02/2020 08:12

Deadlift max of 105kg

Slightly more than double my body weight. Struggling to improve on that though.

DropOfffArtiste · 14/02/2020 09:11

167cm 80kg (down from 96kg and trying to lose another 10)

Bench 40kg
Leg press 150kg
Deadlift 70kg
Back squat 40kg

Rollerbird · 14/02/2020 09:13

Well done both!
100 deadlift is my goal this year!
You must be tiny!

Dolorabelle · 14/02/2020 09:26

I've been trying to get past my 1RM of 85kg for ages now, but I'm not doing enough lifting regularly enough to be honest. I'm in the gym or ballet studio 5 days out of 7, with 1 PT session a week, plus Pump classes, ballet & yoga. But I need to find a second day to lift ...

PhoneLock · 14/02/2020 09:45

You must be tiny!

I've never thought as myself as tiny. I'm 5'6. I do have a smallish frame, I suppose.

I do weights once a week and circuits usually three times a week. I sometimes run, but I don't really enjoy it.

Rollerbird · 14/02/2020 11:57

Haha
It's just that I'm 60kg and 5 foot 5 and I'm not hefty. About 50 kg seems tiny to me. Strong as an ox though. Double bodyweight is amazing 👍 👍

DropOfffArtiste · 14/02/2020 14:03

Inspired by this thread I just did a 2RM of 80kg!

DropOfffArtiste · 14/02/2020 14:03

deadlift, that is

PhoneLock · 15/02/2020 09:14

I think I may have reached a peak with the deadlift. I've achieved the goal I set myself but I'm worried about injuring my back by going heavier.

My new focus is a body weight exercise; vertical press ups. I can do three but my form is terrible. Out of the gym, they do make a good party piece though. Grin

Rollerbird · 15/02/2020 10:25

@PhoneLock that's Impressive
We need a vid!!

PhoneLock · 15/02/2020 12:28

I'll see what I can do. I do have a pic from when I first managed to do one.

Obvious boasting thread. Post your RM max here!
PhoneLock · 26/02/2020 09:03

Another obvious boast. I managed to dead lift 110 kg today.

I started off with 10 reps of 60 to warm up, then 5 each at 80 and 100. I only managed one rep at 110 but I'm still pleased with it.

Rollerbird · 26/02/2020 10:26

Well done 👍

GodwinsRulebook · 27/02/2020 00:12

Wow. Impressive!

I was training today with a warm up of 45 and then a couple of sets at 65 then 4 sets of 3 reps at 75kg. Interspersed with learning to do dips properly. Although using a band to assist.
