Just wondering what do people think about tarot cards and if they work?

I like them and do see some truth in them

They are utter rubbish

I think they work on the power of metaphor. So they give you a symbol and you interpret that and apply it to your current situation. I think they help bypass the logical, linear mind and give deeper insight. Not in a predicting the future way, but helping you to understand your own unconscious motivations more easily.

Some people / readers are very intuitive and able to find meaning. Mostly it’s rubbish.
Don’t think they can predict the future but it can help a person address their own questions with feelings and thoughts that might not make sense without some guidance (tarot and the reader being the guidance). It’s not always easy to make sense of our thoughts, hopes, feelings, needs. So anything that helps with it can’t be too bad a thing. Cheaper than a psychotherapist usually.

I know some people who use them to focus their meditation. That can be quite helpful. Apart from that, no. Just think for 30 seconds about how they can possibly predict anything. Obviously they can’t.

Yes I do my own, they have been brutally correct even if it’s not the answer I wanted and turned out correct, sometimes they have a comedy value to the reading, almost like they are trying to cheer me up. Quite often if I’m asking the same question too much, the same card will be pulled out over again even with reshuffled cards which is freaky.

I think it depends on what you’re asking, when you mean “work”. Do they “predict the future” no. Are they a great tool, to help give guidance and insight? In my opinion yes. I love using tarot and oracle cards to help me access inner knowing and guidance, they help me unlock things I may not have thought of before, bring new perspectives and highlight new things about a situation. I think they’re a great tool for tapping into our subconscious (and universal energy, if you believe in things like that).

Some people find them easy to dismiss, as you’ll see with comments on this thread. But I think that often comes from a lack of understanding around what we can actually utilise them for
