Could a kind reader do one for me please about the immediate future? To other posters, please don't post if you're going to say it's nonsense etc.

Thank-you, that’s what I thought it was from your description, and it fits my current circumstances!

I’m very grateful for your help. You’re good at this!

aww thank you! actually I've read a lot for myself and studied tarot a long time but never really done readings for other people before this thread - so this side of things is very new to me. I am pleased to hear that the readings resonate with you - thank you for the feedback :)

forcliffssake · 10/03/2025 09:39

@cakeybird I would dearly love a reading if you have time. I'm struggling with the decision of whether to retire and what's ahead. Would really appreciate it x

@forcliffssake ok but just for fun! take professional advice for any serious decisions!

I got the page of swords - he generally suggests waiting until you have more information - he is waiting and biding his time - perhaps you have more research to do or a bit longer to wait and find out - or perhaps he is you - in your indecision - unsure of what to do next! Either way maybe you are not 100% ready right now. The next card suggests (eight of cups) that there is something you feel is missing! You have all good things where you are at the moment - resources, support etc - but you are not finding them fulfilling perhaps? The figure is heading off on a journey in search of something missing. Perhaps he/she is knowledge seeking in relation to your question? Or perhaps a literal journey away from your work and into retirement? All in all searching for fulfilment - perhaps you are not feeling 100% into the current status quo right now. The journey might not be easy (as all journeys carry an element of risk or danger) but this is about something bigger than what is going on at the moment - a spiritual journey. A kind of soul searching of sorts in seek of those missing pieces that are missing from what you have. Finally the ace of swords - this is about a breakthrough, usually related to the mental side of things. Suddenly you can cut right through the clouds and see what you need to. The energy may come quickly - it is a good time for clarity and breakthroughs. Whether that means in terms of finding the knowledge you need or in terms of breaking through into a new phase of life I am not sure! Either way I think this is about seeking more information, going on a quest to find it - you might find someone or something that can really help you decide - or perhaps a flash of inspiration may break through for you soon if you do go in search of the information you need? Perhaps you need to take action to address your uncertainty before you can really decide what is best for you.

I hope that doesn't all sound too vague and contradictory and is somewhat helpful!? Would love some feedback. Thank you!

the empress does not necessary relate to having literal children but to the archetype of the mother - your own? a matriarch or strong and nurturing woman who you know? or perhaps yourself - not literally giving birth but perhaps birthing a new project of some sort (in whatever form that may take). She has the power within herself to create and to nurture herself or others around her - she does not necessarily need a partner be complete and whole.

And from the five of swords I pulled earlier it definitely sounds as though you are better leaving this relationship behind.

The page of cups represents a young person (perhaps a child or teen? or your state of mind) who is sweet and romantic. Puppy love perhaps? She may bring a message of something romantic or sweet approaching on the horizon. Creativity, joy and daydreaming. Perhaps you are dreaming of something lovely? Focus on your intuition and let your daydreams come out - honour them for they may offer something important - but remember they may just be daydreams - try not to get too carried away - nothing is certain. Creative outlets and pursuits could be helpful. Then the Knight of Swords - this represents hurtling headlong into something with furious energy. Time to embrace challenges with energy and confidence. Or perhaps a level of impulsiveness - is something going too quickly - are you (or someone you know) being a bit hasty perhaps? (Or could it be a young person you know rushing into a romantic relationship!? just a thought!). Finally the 9 of cups. This is about wishes and dreams fulfilled! So I think it is likely that there is a happy ending somewhere, related to family, love or emotions or something like that. Emotional satisfaction? Honour your daydreams but don't rush into emotional stuff (whether at home or work or family) too quickly with your head in the clouds - but hopefully you will get some good times, bonding, satisfaction and wishes granted.

Caveat - for fun only, as always!

Hi @Lovelyview caveat - for fun only!

Ok I pulled the chariot - this is the card of self determination - willpower. I'm wondering if he needs to feel a little more self sufficient, or for you to let him loose a little so feels like he is the master of his own destiny and direction? He has willpower and determination but he may not be focussed on it enough right now. Then the knight of cups - this could be him, or you! If it is you it suggests approaching him with diplomacy, respect and tact would be so important. You can reach out to him, make an offering of some kind, in this way. If it is him, perhaps he is romantic or sweet - a sensitive soul who might be easily discouraged (did he have a break up recently? or perhaps he is feeling unlucky in love, as paired with the five of cups - see next card).

The five of cups suggests a loss or emotional regret, a depression over something spilled and wasted or lost (romantic relationship? project that didn't go well perhaps? friendships that have passed?). You'd do well to remind him that actually he still has many opportunities still around him - helping him to focus on those, rather than what hasn't gone right could be good for him - obviously done with empathy and so on. Perhaps giving him a little more self determination and freedom (chariot) might help him in this - you may play the role of the facilitator here by tactfully making some offerings and suggestions, a gift of some kind (whether emotional support, more freedom or something else more exiting!). Help him find his inner will and drive again?

I hope this is helpful! Would welcome any feedback!

Would @cakeybird or anybody else experienced be able to draw some for me, please?

Thank you! I'm not aware of a romantic or friendship loss but that doesn't mean there isn't one. He may be noticing his friends having relationships and feel like he's missing out. Your suggestions about self sufficiency ring true. I'll have a think about how to encourage this. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

no worries! Yes I am sure as a teen may well be aware (as most teens are) of romance going on and if so feel like he's missing out. Perhaps encouraging him to focus on his own direction would be appropriate then - his career and life in general and away from the romance stuff. That way he will be distracted but also have something meaningful to work on.

Hi @cakeybird this just popped up on active and I wondered if you could do a reading for me? I’ve never had one before, no particular questions really, just general direction of travel and whether things are likely to continue as they are or change. Thanks

hi @Timefortea123 for fun only!

I pulled the eight of pentacles - typically it means working in a skilled career, or working with intense focus to build something of beauty (often something artisan or some sort of crafted piece that takes skill, but could be any career or job where you work hard and have experience!). Is that what you are doing now? Or, it could be something you long to do!? Something craft or skill? Then the six of cups - this can be about nostalgia - perhaps about looking back into your past to discover what you love to do, or reminiscing? There are children in the picture - an image of sweetness and sharing - perhaps you would be spending time with your grandchildren (if you have them) or it could be about rediscovering a creative passion that used to inspire you and you used to love to do - there may be value in identifying something like this. Finally the King of Cups - he is an emotional master. He is a kind and compassionate man (a husband or partner?) or he could represent yourself. Perhaps you are considering spending more time with him? Or perhaps you should take his message of emotional mastery - he sits on a throne which is floating in choppy waters, however he is unbothered - he has reached a zen point! He is used to just being despite any turbulence going on. Perhaps leaning into this zen mindstate will help you make up your mind - try not to let the emotional side of things carry you away - you can be calm, collected and balanced here. Perhaps the children of the six and the king of cups together represent more family time? Or perhaps there is a way to balance your talent and skill and experience with more family time (go part time?)? Or just to find a way of being in the moment, finding some emotional tranquility - perhaps you don't need to decide right now?

I'm not sure if it recommends leaving or staying but I hope something resonates. I would welcome some feedback if you have any!

Ok I got the ten of wands - perhaps you have been carrying a significant burden for some time? You might feel exhausted, like you've had a test of endurance and a lot to deal with, likely on your own. Lots of responsibility. Are you carrying too much alone? The cycle may have almost peaked. There may be real value in stopping to smell the roses a bit! The second card the three of cups - this shows three people having a drink together and letting their hair down. Go out with friends, connect and celebrate. Perhaps you need to share some of your troubles or burdens with them. Or perhaps your load bearing is over and it is time to celebrate. It is a good card - you need to get out there and connect with people again - it will be fun. Finally the six of cups. Another card that indicates sweetness and sharing. A card of moments of reflection. You've had a long journey - it might be time to look back over it and see how far you've come and what the good things were. There have been some good times in there. It might also suggest you need to spend a little more time with children, or with people from your past? Either way, share the load, take the weight off a bit and get back into sharing, being with others again and stopping to smell the roses and enjoy things a bit. Focus on the moment.

I hope this resonates with you!

do you have a question please?

LacyRuby · 10/03/2025 13:59

Yes please, will a child be part of my life? and / or Will I come to accept my late mother's will?

cakeybird · 10/03/2025 14:10

LacyRuby · 10/03/2025 13:59

Yes please, will a child be part of my life? and / or Will I come to accept my late mother's will?

I don't feel comfortable answering about children but i will look at the will one for you!

Ok I got the queen of pentacles - perhaps she represents your mother? A financially savvy woman who is surrounded by the fruits of her work. Someone who works or worked diligently, tending to her financial and material wealth so it was grown and nurtured - she was probably a successful person, a wealthy person or at least someone who was materially secure. Then the ten of swords. It shows a person lying unmoving on the ground with 10 swords in their back. The tens represent the end or culmination of a cycle. Perhaps in this case it represents the end of her life (you mention she is your late mother?). Or perhaps she wasn't always the nicest to you in real life? Sometimes it can indicate you have been stabbed in the back (metaphorically) or mistreated. I'm not sure if it represents you or her though! Times were perhaps recently very difficult but - the good thing, despite any difficulty that has recently happened (or historically) there is a kind of peace now - the lowest point has been reached as the worst thing that could have happened is over. Finally the six of wands - that tends to represent a victory. Success, progress and self confidence - often meaning winning! I can't say for sure whether that is your mother's money - it might well do - and is potentially a good indicator, but in case it does not, perhaps it means you find your own way with something - recognition, independence, honour - whether related to her money or not? I would never like to speculate with certainty but it does look like a good ending either way, for you, with any luck.

Caveat this is all for fun and please take legal advice should you need it.

Please let me know if this resonates, would love any feedback?
