Does anyone want a tarot card pull?

I need to get my eye back in as I'm planning to get back in the swing of offering readings again in my local area.
I've been out of the loop for a couple of years, so I'm happy to do a few readings on here, because you'll be helping me just as much as I may be able to help you.
I should point out that my readings are not based on any psychic ability; I believe that each card contains multitudes and that normally a topic is discovered through back and forth during a reading, so forgive me if these seem a bit dry. If you could give me an area to focus on I'd be obliged, as with just a single card pull there's not always a huge amount to go on.
Let's limit it to the first 10 people and we'll see how we go.

I really would love to know about the year ahead. Thank you!

Camparispritzandcrisps · 16/01/2025 16:25

If I'm not too late to the party, please could you pull a card for me about my career this year? Thanks!

PracticalTarot · 16/01/2025 16:31

@BearWoman I have pulled Temperance for you, with regard to your career. The guidance this card sends is -go easy. Softly softly and all that. You want to spread your wings and possibly change something about your job -maybe you want or need to retrain or change paths completely. By all means. But please make sure you are prepared. Do your research, take the courses, talk to the people in the industry you're interested in, do the sums.

Basically, it's telling you to look before you leap. The card urges balance, which makes me wonder what is currently unbalanced? Once you can see that clearly, you may understand the lesson the card has to offer more easily.

It can also ask you to look at your finances, as this is a card that indicates that if it's not you, then it may be books which need balancing. It can, in that sense , represent a career in something like finance or accountancy.

Sometimes the Tarot makes odd jumps -like temperance pertaining to alcohol could have roots in something in the licensing industry, or a pub!

@butterfly0404 You asked about health, and the card that came for you was the King of cups. This is a good card to see if you have been unwell or had problems with your health, been on any sort of long term medication and so on, as he can represent healing. He also represents help from supportive friends and family.

The suite of cups deals with mental health, rather than physical health, so even if it isn't a mental ailment that you're dealing with, this card is suggesting that you do remember to look after your mental health, your spiritual side and the fact that it's not just your body that needs rest and nourishment. Talking therapy, meditation and getting out in nature are all covered by this card.

Because he is a King, his energy is active and outward facing, so he is asking that you deal with any recuperation in the same way. Emotionally stimulating things -the spectrum runs from counselling to reading poetry -are better if they can be shared with someone.

@AnonAnonEmouse I pulled two cards for you -one for your son, and one to cover his education, although I suspect the answer for you lies halfway between the two cards, which are the six of swords, and The Moon.

The six of swords is an indication that you are moving away from an unpleasant period (I suspect this is why The Moon has appeared, because it covers all sorts of mental trauma and upset, which can be either self inflicted or not).

It may not feel that things are getting better -if you look at the 6 of swords the progress of the boat is slow, and the woman and child who are being guided are clearly unhappy, sorrowful or traumatised. They may well be grieving a loss. But the water they are leaving behind is choppy, and they are sailing into calmer waters. Their guide is taking care of them, sailing the boat skillfully across the sea. The worries they have, represented by the swords, are still with them, they are present in the boat but not harming them. In time, the worries may be able to be let go, and thrown back into the sea.

Both cards contain water, so emotions are key to whatever is happening to you right now. The trick is to be able to put emotions to one side -swords urge us to use our mind, thoughts, intellect and yes, even cunning -to solve a problem. These cards make me feel that you may have been through the mill a bit. I hope you both find your calmer waters

@BunfightBetty What a username! I love it.

Betty, you asked about Finances and career, so I pulled 2 cards. You have 6 of cups and the 9 of pentacles. Together, my feeling is that these represent early retirement. If that's not the case, I wonder if you are in a position to, or are thinking about, starting a small business (or a large business! Who knows!)

Both cards are saying that you are settled, comfortable and not too worried about money. You can spend some, save some -what these cards tell me is that you are in control. Career-wise, you may have reached a point where you are flying high, professionally. You may be looking for new challenges, or you may be happy to coast along as you are. Actions you took further back are starting to bear fruit -whether that is to do with monetary investments or perhaps your qualifications are starting to mean you can apply for better jobs with more responsibility and better pay easily.

The only fly in the ointment might be the 6 of cups. Professionally it can represent a feeling that you may be looking back along your career and wondering if you should have taken a different path. You can't rewrite that, so take the pleasures and comfort of the 9 of pentacles and rest on your laurels!

Thank you so much, this resonates with me enormously. I've had, in the past, quite severe mental ill health, it's now my area of work as I've recovered enough to give back but sometimes the anxiety is still prevalent. I'm going through some physical health issues atm and this has given me some comfort and guidance. Thank you, 😊 x

@nottoplan I was just thinking that I hadn't pulled The Lovers for anyone yet, and here we are. It's a card that has many layers. On the surface, if I was an end-of-the-pier type Tarot reader, I would tell you that romance wise, everything in the garden was rosy. And it can mean that. But you know what, I haven't met a person yet who asks me about relationships who doesn't have a niggle of some sort at the back of their mind when they ask the question. If I've got this wrong and there is a new relationship in your life, the outlook is mostly happy -the Gods are smiling on you; go forth and procreate.

But fundamentally, the Lovers card is about choice. If you look at the card, there is a third figure between the couple who have not yet joined their hands together -the decision is still wavering. It can be the card of eternal triangles, of affairs, of partnerships gone wrong. These aren't always romantic relationships, they can represent any type of partnership (but normally romantic).

There are all sorts of choices -there can be the choice between partners, prospective partners, lovers, family members, children, spouses. There is the choice to settle, or to leave. There is the choice made from guilt, the choice made from passion, or the choice made with the head, as opposed to the heart. Choices based on money, on suspicions, on stupid mistakes. So what this card is asking, is what choice do you need to make? Someone else may be in charge of that decision, ultimately, in which case there isn't a huge amount you can do to influence the outcome.

The card I pulled to cover this was the 4 of wands, which is a card of stability, of a happy, secure home. This qualifies the first card enormously and indicates that what might seem like a huge earthquake is just a minor wobble.

@Mrsbloggz I pulled the ten of swords for you. I am sorry. It's been covered a couple of times in PPs readings, and I've even moved on to using a different deck, so I know it's not my terrible shuffling that's at fault. This card is one of very significant endings. From what you asked I would say that the cards are giving you an unequivocal sign that your business may have run its course.

However, as you will have seen me say previously, there is no ending without a new beginning, and every end contains the seeds of a new harvest.

If you are familiar with Corn dollies, the last ears of corn from a harvest are kept over the winter and then ploughed into the first sowing of the new season, so each new crop holds in some part, a little of the old. I believe that this is the lesson this card has for you. It is not over, it just needs to be reploughed. What lessons can you take from your business, and how can you use them to fertilise new ideas? How can you diversify? What might that look like to you?

@PracticalTarot , I'm loving reading all your answers here.
If there's any chance I'd love to know if my therapy is going to work?

Mrsbloggz · 16/01/2025 18:14

@PracticalTarot thank you so much for my Tarot reading, it confirms what I know deep down but had been reluctant to admit.
I'm also in the midst of my second saturn return so it really is the end of a cycle. I need to absorb the lessons of that time and take them forward into a new pase of life.
Thank you again🙏

PracticalTarot · 16/01/2025 18:16

@medianewbie I pulled 2 cards for you -one for your Dds health (7 of cups) and one for will she be ok (3 of cups).

Broadly -yes. The 3 of cups is a card of celebration, of feminine power, the trinity. It celebrates relationships, and the power of friendship. It says: why not party? We don't know what might happen tomorrow, so let us live in the now. True friends are a great support, and I imagine that is probably just as true for you as it will be for your daughter.

The card pertaining to her health is a little trickier. It shows that you have a lot of options, a lot of choice. You may be confused as to which path seems the best -you may be overwhelmed with advice. Some things may seem too good to be true. There is a possibility that some people peddle advice that may be downright harmful.

The hard bit for you is to navigate all the different options. You need to make a sensible, informed choice. Please investigate every avenue equally if you are doing it on behalf of your daughter -or try and make the decisions together if you are able. Best of luck to you.

@Nowmum43 You have asked about family, and I have pulled The Tower for you. That card has shown up a lot since I started doing these readings! If you have young adult or teen children, this can really be a card that represents teenage strops and absolute meltdowns. They seem so hard to handle but they are normally over before they've even begun, and usually mean nothing serious.

Whatever arguments there may be (and this is a card that can represent arguments, rifts, unsettled feelings and everything up to and including breakups), they have no real roots in anything with substance.

If you don't have teens, then this card could relate to the same kind of arguments with family members -lots of hot air but not based in anything too worrying.

The Tower can sometimes mean that we have put someone on a pedestal and they have revealed unfortunately that they are only human with feet of clay after all.

There is of course the possibility that the card could be referring to darker and more troubling arguments, splits and revelations within the family that could lead to real heartache. Someone may have even lied and deceived you. All of these are possible. It might not be the easiest year, but please remind yourself that most things will look worse than they turn out to be.

Thank you so much for this.

I have two teen daughters and one is autistic so we actually live in a world of arguments and meltdowns!

Can I ask as I don't think anyone else has, does the card have to pulled out with the thought of family or can the card be pulled out and looked at for many reasons, so health for example?

nottoplan · 16/01/2025 19:18

@PracticalTarot Thank you so much for my reading , it’s very informative and insightful

Sunshinekim · 16/01/2025 19:22

I would love a reading please. My topic would be my new job, do I stick it out or move to something else?

ColourBlueColourPurple · 16/01/2025 19:23

Please can I have a reading @PracticalTarot ? Can you focus on career for me? Thank you 🔮

Fedupcreative86 · 16/01/2025 20:07

I'd love one please if you're still doing them. Feeling a bit apprehensive about the future and sad that things that I badly want to happen haven't materialised, including a move to a new city and bad luck with dating. TIA x

PracticalTarot · 16/01/2025 20:25

@Nowmum43 I pull one card with a subject in mind, but it can be adapted to fit any circumstance. The reason why I ask for an area to focus on is just so I can be more specific in my answers and not come across as vague and trying to cover all bases. But yes, every card in the Tarot deck can be interpreted through the lens of any question.

Health was another question I was debating on asking (particularly my mums) I will read up what that can also mean.

Thanks again Flowers

@PracticalTarot Thank you very much.
I think my original Qu was maybe a bit muddled as I was wanting to know about Ds health and also if Dd would be ok. Sorry if I was unclear.

Your cards & interpretation are really interesting though.
Ds has been very ill in heart failure. We have had conflicting advice (from NHS) One provider of advice has not been trustworthy in the past. We also had some quite different private advice. So, we are inching forward. I am trying to navigate being a 'Tiger' on Ds behalf (as I'm obviously very worried) & helping him advocate for himself (hard as he is ill and Autistic). I'm not sure which card you pulled re his health ?? but you were accurate re the difficulties / opportunities.
Re Dd - she has been badly affected by the above but is also coming into her own & her female friendships & her and my relationship is blooming. So, spot on there too. THANK YOU, SO VERY MUCH x

@PracticalTarot Thank you so much, that's so helpful! This feels really positive for me. The house I'm looking at does need planning permission, followed by a fair bit of work, so I am consulting professionals. Interesting about the three - we're a family of three, but I haven't yet told the DCs that I'm even looking at a place, because I'm afraid to jinx it, and because I don't want to get their hopes up if it ends up not happening. Definitely some things to mull over there, thank you again.
