Help with a dream

My mum's dad passed away 25 years ago. I was talking about him briefly to my MIL who was suddenly interested in knowing more about my grandparents who've passed and she's not met.

He came in my dreams last night. In my dream he was wearing a bring pink suit and happened to mention that he lied about being dead and was actually living an alternate life away from family. And how he's disappointed in how his kids (my uncles and aunt and mum) have turned out to be. I also saw him as being fit. In my dream I was wondering why is he so indifferent towards his wife (my nan) and why didn't he think of her. She's ailing and frail in her 80s.

If it means anything- He was quite overweight and in his 60s when he passed.

I'm going through a tough time with my health and trying to find new job for the past several months.

Maybe this dream was for me to find something alternate and different to do. Is that what it means? Any other insight will be very helpful.

Thanks for reading this very long post.

I've stumbled on your thread;this is not a forum I usually haunt (spot the pun!) and I'm not into paranormal stuff.

I would simply think that you dreamt about him because you'd recently had a conversation about him, so thoughts of him had been dragged up from your subconscious. I wouldn't read any more than that into it tbh! Dreams usually are a bit weird!

If OTOH you feel that this is prompting you to look at alternatives in your life, when things aren't going great -- then that sounds good, go with it! Good luck!

I don't think it means anything. Dreams are just random stuff thrown up by our minds during sleep, and turned into a narrative. A few years after my granddad died, I had a very vivid dream where he came walking up the road past our house, and I ran out and said 'I thought you were dead!' and he said it was 'just an admin error'.

I would recommend you the podcast "This jungian life", and their school of dreams interpretation.I think it could be very useful to you.
As for the dream in particular, write it down, in great detail, even the feelings and sensations it left you with. I think you will make sense of it eventually 🙃
