This is strange to me as I'm very none woo, but I keep seeing a presence in my house. It's a youngish girl with long dark hair, not sure what she's wearing as it's only ever fleeting glimpse'

I've felt a presence for a while, you know the feeling you get when someone is watching you or is behind you.

The other night I was laying in bed and felt weight on my legs and pushing up my back, I have cats so just assumed it was one of them, put my hand behind me to stroke the cat and there was no cat. This unnerved me a bit. The sightings of her seem to me increasing and I'm now seeing a fleeting glimpse most days.

Slightly freaked out, what do I do.

You need to make a phone call...

Talk to her. I didn't believe in ghosts until I got one. You will know if it's a benign prescience or not.
I had a ghost in a previous rental house. Moved stuff around the house and lots of unexplained noise like a baby crying in an empty room. I bumped into the previous tenant quite recently who said the same had happened to them and a total non believe until then!

I'd ask a priest to visit and/or a psychic medium type person but I'd go off a recommendation by asking around

My Mum and Dad's flat has a ghost, they don't believe in ghosts so they are completely fine with it. It doesn't "do much" as a ghost. It walks up the stairs at around 2.30 am (sound no vision) and occasionally moves things. The main reason I know it is there is because before Mum and Dad moved in we had a series of tenants who moved out because of it. Two of my children saw it all the time as very young children, the other two never saw it. The two that saw it were 7 years apart and never stayed there together, but both described it the same (man with a hat on) that used to come up the stairs and stand by the bed, sometimes moving my mums doilies (lace things). Neither children were bothered by it (at the time). My Dad is deaf so he won't hear it anyway, my Mum does not believe in ghosts so she isn't bothered either. There was a project recently (last 5 years) about families in the local area that lost sons in the 1st world war, and I was sad but not surprised to find their house on there. What do you do ? Probably nothing. Probably nothing you can do.

This is no help to you really but I just wanted to say that after my husband died some years ago, I had a similar sensation to the one that you’re experiencing; the feeling that someone or something is pressing down on the duvet when you’re in bed. It did feel as if a cat was walking up the bed or was sitting on me. It didn’t happen all the time, just now and then. I convinced myself I was imagining it and that it was just anxiety but now you have me wondering! In your position, if you truly believe you have a ghost I would speak to a priest.

Sorry OP I have no suggestions.

@sjpkgp1 off topic. In the US version of Ghosts one of the builders brings his child to work, the child is quite happy to interact with the ghosts.

It's so strange, I was so convinced it was one of my lovely cats that came up behind me when I was laying on my side in bed reading, I was a bit unsettled when I realised there was no cat.

I have things go missing and move also, my daughter has also seen her, though I don't let on to her that I have to and play it down to her. My 11 year old won't go upstairs by herself though.

The house we live in isn't old, only around 20 years and I have lived here for 17 of those and knew the last owners so nothing bad has happened at the property. It's only in the last year that this started though.

I don’t have any direct experience but have read that you should talk to the presence and tell them they are making you and your family feel uncomfortable and could they go away please. Lots of accounts say this usually works. I didn’t used to believe in anything like this but now have read so many people’s experiences that I suspect there must be something going on, although who only knows what!

I am a medium/ clairvoyant/ spiritualist.
The Ghost just wants recognition.
You need to talk to " her" tell her you know she's there and you wish her no harm.
Ask her not to " scare" you or anyone else in the house but she's very welcome to stay.
Yes might sound strange to some. She may be lost.. or a long departed relative of yours or the previous owner.
All she wants is acknowledgement.
Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask me anything more.

Sounds like we have the same ghost, young girl with long dark hair. We’ve just started having issues in the last 8 weeks or so. I think she’s attached to my son as she’s been to his dads house too 😱

30swith3 · 17/06/2023 21:50

I had a similar situation a few years back, one day out loud I said ‘I don’t like what you’re doing, can you stop please’ and nothing happened again. Who knows what it was, but maybe try that?

pompomdaisy · 17/06/2023 21:55

I would ring the doctor and make an appointment. It may be a symptom something else medical rather than a ghost.
