So, in the last month or so we have had the weirdest thing happen to our living room carpet - the outline (or part of an outline) of a circle appears, slightly damp, not smelling of anything and in different places. It is approx. the same size as the base of a round plastic washing basket (see pic) - and I have literally no idea what has caused this! Today I was upstairs for 10-15 mins and came down and one had appeared??? The only suspect around at the time was my dog but I dont see how he could have done this......well not without a compass anyway lol. Just wondered if anyone had ever had anything like this also?

What's underneath the carpet? ie what's the floor like?

jenzza · 25/04/2023 09:51

Its concrete I am guessing covered with carpet underlay etc - has been the same for over 10 years....

Interesting. Is it a completely different place every time or several different spots it can appear?

Skulldrudgery · 25/04/2023 15:01

Is it dog : sitting where the break in the circle is, and wagging tail to make the circle?

KnickerlessParsons · 25/04/2023 15:22

Is it wet, or muddy, or how does it show up? Has the carpet nap been brushed the wrong way? is DH messing with your mind?

Sunny24 · 25/04/2023 16:46

I have no idea but I am bumping!

@KnickerlessParsons it is damp but only along the actual rim not in the middle or anywhere else....not muddy and I have no idea how it shows up, it just literally appears....this is the 4th time it has happened in the last month (ish) and never happened ever before then - I am going to have to lift the carpet I think to check what is underneath 😕

Hmmm that’s very interesting! Are you always home alone when it happens ?
