Dream off long passed loved one 3 nights in a row

Morning.
My grandad passed away 12 years ago and this week I have dreamt of him 3 nights in a row. Normal events in the dreams, nothing special happening. Just feels strange to dream about him 3 consecutive nights after such a long time has passed. Anyone any thoughts or experiences of dreams like this? Thanks 😊

I think sometimes we dream about people we are subconsciously thinking about. Kind of a sleeping memory of someone we like to remember.

I dreamt of my ex last night (no animosity) and we got back together and split up for the same reasons that we actually did!

I think that your brain sometimes churns things up unexpectedly. After you dreamed about him the first night, then you were thinking about him so maybe that's why you then dreamed about him again.

On the other hand, I do like to think that my DM drops into my dreams to let me know she's ok so 🤷🏻‍♀️
I don't know if I really believe that but it's nice to think.

Either way, it's lovely to dream about someone who's been gone a long time, I find it very comforting.

I think sometimes, the first dream can happen because something has sparked off a memory - often in your subconscious, and then subsequent dreams follow on as a result of the first dream making you think about the person in your conscious mind.

Think back if you can to what happened before the first dream - anything that could have sparked something in your subconscious? E.g. did you see the town where your grandad used to live mentioned on TV, or did you read something about someone who did the job he used to do - something like that?

I dream about my late grandparents from time to time and there's often a reason like the above.

I had a dream I was playing cards with my dad. We both acknowledged he was actually dead at one point and then just carried on chatting and laughing. You may find you have different dreams of close relatives at different stages of loss.
